Below is a quick guide to Project Mu’s brake pad compounds.
NS-C – 400°C street pad made in Japan. Clean, quiet and, good for daily street driving.
NS-EP – the same friction material as the NS-C, just assembled in Thailand for overseas export. This is also the more commonly found compound in Australia.
PCR09 (Club Racer) – entry level racing pad that requires a little bit of temperature to work properly. Very popular in converted track cars and Excel racing as the pad performance is high but still forgiving.
H16-03 – the most popular dedicated racing compound offered by Project-Mu. Very popular in circuit racing for sedans, open wheelers, and gravel rally. Has too much friction for factory hydraulic systems.
H20/H21/H22/H25 – racing compounds that decrease in friction as the number increases. The compound here is pretty much driver preference, depending on the vehicle application and tyre choice. H22 is designed to be used as the rear pad, in conjunction with other racing compounds.
D1 – this is a drift specific compound designed to have super high friction at very cold temperatures, allowing drifters to lock the rear wheels easily.
