Below is a quick guide to Project Mu’s brake rotors.

Club Racer rotors (CRD rotors) – are Project Mu’s entry level brake rotor. They feature a single piece design with straight slots. The slots aid in performance by increasing pad bite and also clear waste from underneath the pads.

These are an export only rotor and are only available in Australia and the USA. This product is the cheapest in the range and covers quite a few JDM applications. They can be used on the track but that is not their primary purpose.

SCR Pure Plus6 (SPP rotors) – are Project Mu’s main rotor. They are a single piece, slotted rotor that has been heat treated, which makes them more durable than the CRD rotors. The range of cars that these fit is more limited than the CRD rotors and for some, they only offer a front rotor. In this case, CRD rotors can be used in the rear.

SCR-Pro – are Project Mu’s starter in the 2 piece rotor space. These are a 2 piece rotor, which means that they are lighter and better protect the hub from heat, increasing performance.

These rotors are ‘handed’ meaning that there is a left and a right rotor. This is because the rotors have a curved internal vane structure that helps channel air from the inside of the rotor to the outside of the rotor, which aids in cooling.

These rotors are designed for racing and other performance uses, though they also work perfectly fine on the street.

SCR-GT – is Project Mu’s top level of rotor. It is a floating 2 piece rotor with an ultra lightweight hat made from a more superior alloy than the SCR-PRO. The mounting system between the hat and the rotor is also superior to the SCR-PRO, which allows more float between the rotor and hat.

This rotor is essentially a better version of the SCR-Pro. It is also handed, meaning that there are left and right versions for both sides of the car, and they are designed for serious racing but they can also be used on the street.
